Celebration of Arts and Culture

Our Celebration of Arts and Culture concert is a distinguished homage to Black History Month. PCC offered many new and interesting musical selections including the dramatic sequence God’s Trombones, based on poems by James Weldon Johnson and African-American spirituals arranged by Roy Ringwald, of Fred Waring fame. This twenty minute set piece is arranged for mixed chorus, soloists, two narrators, piano, and organ.

The concert featured several guest artists including the eminent operatic baritone, Donnie Ray Albert, Dallas Black Dance Theatre: Encore!, performance artist, Marlane Taylor, student orator Noah LeBeauf, and the Southwestern Christian College A Cappella Choir.
